Influenced by EBM, industrial techno and darkwave, SIERRA has two EPs under her belt and has performed in more than 10 countries (Europe/USA) next to MAGIC SWORD, CARBON KILLER and LAZERPUNK. With the release of her third EP, the Parisian producer marks a new step in her oeuvre with a more personal approach, moving further away from Synthwave musical tropes to establish a musical territory of her own.
Interview Meikee Magnetic
Where have you been staying since Covid-19 hit?
Since the Covid-19 hit I stayed almost all the time in Paris or near Paris. In France we are right now for the second time living a lockdown with the interdiction to move from where we live.
We hear you have a new release, tell us more:
I released my third EP on December 4th, All About Love. It’s a two-track EP, brutal and melancholic. It is really inspired by EBM, industrial techno and darksynth.
Where would you like to play most once the pandemic ends?
Any place would make me happy. I miss so much being on stage. I look forward to being back on the road in Europe when Covid will be behind us. I really look forward to playing again in the USA, Paris, and London.
Is there something you wish to do in the next 2 years that you’ve always dreamed of?
I really would like to compose my first OST. I also really would like to collaborate with new artists, and try totally new things in my project.
What does Dark Beauty mean to you now?
Fortunately, or unfortunately, I am mainly inspired by darkness. I see beauty in sadness, melancholia and anger. In my day-life I am not at all a dark woman. I mean I try my best to stay positive even in the hardest situations. Yet SIERRA deals with my dark side that I very much need to express.
