Hungarian dark pop duo formed in 2008, the group consists of Emese Arvai-Illes (vocals) and Krisztian Arvai (keyboards). This is probably the darkest song of the album which was written in a moment of despair. It’s a crying-out-loud song, when you are not in that mood it might seem too much. The flow of everyday life meets a low moment and your reality gets distorted, for a short time, then you crawl back out. In that moment, the source of frustration rules over you and it’s that moment, stretched out for four and a half minutes. The video plays with this “stretched-out moment”, it’s slow and contemplative. Tamas Mesmer directed it, who also created the vaporwave glitch art video for our song Resonance along with Paris Seawell. He came up with the idea of shooting somewhere in rural Transylvania, whenever the pandemic allows.
“I am fond of the idea as my family tree goes back to hard working farmers and farmhands. We got in contact with Attila Palhegyi ‘Pele’ photographer from Szekelyland who helped Tamas for a week to find the perfect places and families to work with. They spent hours at each location, getting to know the people, their backgrounds and stories. Due to the pandemic we shot at different locations: they recorded the scenarios in Szekelyland and Richard Besenczi (director of No Gold and Unrequited Love) recorded me singing in the studio, with Tamas virtually present and directing via Skype. We really bridged some gaps there.” – Emese
