Paris, in a post apocalyptic future. Vampires have taken over political and social power, imposing a fashion anarchy headed by the magnificent Vlad Dracula, a widely acclaimed fashion designer and photographer. From clubs to parties, from photo shoots to fashion shows, the infamous count leads an outwardly self indulgent life with his clique of iconic vampires and pop idols.
But the party’s almost over: Dracula is dying. The only thing that could cure him and restore his vitality is the blood of a virgin. These days, searching for a virgin in the city of lights is like looking for a needle in a haystack… While Dracula’s condition worsens as he fails in his quest to find the sacred blood, the love story he shared with Lilith; his soul mate, his partner and muse, is put in danger. Indeed, despite her ancient origins, Lilith is in the best of health.
She must make a decision:: to go on living, and find someone else to spend her life with. She recovers happiness in the arms of Akasha, her former Egyptian rival… Dracula, whose love for Lilith is stronger than ever, is devastated by this romance; that might tear apart his reputed unbreakable heart. Interview Meikee Magnetic
Tell us about the concept of the film:
Luizo Vega: “Dracula is not Dead” is a cult film about a fashion vamp. Dracula is now like a hot Lagerfeld, photographer and designer living the last day in his life.
We love the cast for the project, how did you go about choosing the characters?
Luizo Vega: I know all the performers from other works and collaborations and they are great! I support new talent, I love the real artists with passion and faith. My life is a casting anyway, so I’m meeting new people all the time and I create for them.
Who are some of the musical artists involved in the soundtrack?
Luizo Vega: My favorite group FLESH! As well as other great bands friends like 3TEETH and Resident Alien. Our feature film project is still open for new songs.
Will there be a special look or collection featured by certain designers?
Some official partners so far for the film include Joshua David of Majesty Black and Gelareh, who are each designing a special collection for the film in vegan leather.
