Set during the reign of King George V, Downton Abbey is a period drama of aristocratic grandeur and subtleties of interactions. The series follows the lives of the Crawley family and their servants living in the stately home named Downton Abbey. Dramatics aside, anyone with an affinity for period fashion will be madly in love with the consumes beautifully framed in each shot. The team behind the stunning fashion are Dulcie Scott (costume supervisor), Caroline McCall (assistant costume designer), and Jason Gill (costume assistant).
After its record breaking first season, the series will return for a second season in 2011 on iTV. While the series has yet to make its debut stateside, there are ways of watching the series outside of the UK; especially if you know a web-savvy friend. Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneviille, Elizabeth McGovern, Penelope Wilton, Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, and Jessica Brown-Findlay portrays the Crawley family.
