Destino
If Walt Disney and Salvador Dali had a baby together, this video would be it. Destino began in 1946 as a collaboration between Walt Disney and the famed surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. A first-hand example of Disney’s interest in avant garde and experimental work in animation, Destino was to be awash with Dalí’s iconic melting clocks, marching ants and floating eyeballs. However, Destino was not completed at that time. In 2003, it was rediscovered by Walt’s nephew, Roy E. Disney, who took on the challenge of bringing the creation of these two great artists to fruition. In addition to the completed Destino, this exciting addition to the Walt Disney Treasures line also includes an all-new feature-length documentary that examines the surprising partnership between Dalí and Disney plus two new featurettes; “The Disney That Almost Was”, an examination of the studio’s unfinished projects; and “Encounters with … Read more

The Woman in Black
Nothing creeps me out like old dolls moving on their own, and staring right into your soul. **shudders** But if you’re into that sort of imagery, by all means checkout the trailer for The Woman in Black. Starring no other than our beloved hero from Harry Potter, Harry Potter! …I mean Daniel Radcliffe. From what I gather from folks that have seen the UK play, this is one creep-infested/tastic story based on the 1983 book from Susan Hill.

Once Upon A Time
While it’s certainly no Game of Thrones; ABC’s new fantasy…I mean fairy-tale TV-movie, Once Upon A Time do seem promising. Anna, our protagonist stops at a quaint little town, aptly named Storybrooke. Despite being forewarned of the magic and mysteries of this town, she seems utterly unconvinced; until Anna is enveloped in the town’s fairy-tale past. Fans of Robert Carlyle (Dr. Nicolas Rush no Stargate Universe) or Ginnifer Goodwin (Margene “Margie” Heffman on Big Love) rejoyce! As they both will be key characters in the film. Will the movie be campy? Probably. Will it be good? Let’s hope so!
