Interview Meikee Magnetic
Where were you born and where do you reside now?
I was born in a circus tent on the Mendip Hills in Somerset, my mother had been fatally wounded by an Elephant in the show and to everyone’s surprise I managed to find my way out, spark into life to the sound of Jail House Rock. I now live in Brighton best city in the UK for Seagulls, fish and chips, enormous people in tiny clothes, music for morons, and incredible drinking skills only to be matched drunk fighting.
How did the collaboration with The Mutant Theatre show come to life?
I worked with half of the Mutants (Agnivo) in Moscow, then Stigma show in St PetersBurg Russia… I wanted to put a big show on for a long time, and opportunity came knocking when we played Ozora in 2015. Wegha the booker loved that show and asked me to come back but with something completely different, I saw the opportunity and took it.
How has the experience been working with vocalists Taja Devi, Tula Ben-Ari, Johann Bley on drums and Amir Haddad on guitar?
Taja is a bit of a Diva, doesn’t seem to like other people too much, likes to propel Tula off stage if she can, Tula on the other hand is well trained in many fighting arts, and likes to reciprocate with a few well timed elbows. Budgie is on drums – one of my all time favorite drummers, and a very nice human to be around.
What can fans expect to see and hear on this tour?
Expect the show of a lifetime, never before or after will you experience such a intensely visual moment.
How do you feel about the state of our world?
Totally fucking shit… from the gangster politicians to the giant corporations the arms trade, the senseless pollution of our planet, destruction of natural habitats and poisoning of the sea’s. I want to see the revolution come into force and a world where religion is no longer an issue, rights for all sexes is finally equal, progressive clean energy / water / food is possible for all on this rock.
After these shows and album I intend to do as little as possible for the rest of my life and beyond…
What does Dark Beauty mean to you?
Mysterious fascination mixed with the blood of a vampire, a good game player and a butler.
