Merriam-Webster’s definition of a psychic is: Etymology; Greek “psychikos” of the soul, lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge: sensitive to nonphysical or supernatural forces and influence: marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception, or understanding.
A psychic is someone who is able to tap into information that is not gained through earth bound methods. This may come through as images seen with the third eye/brow chakra, known as clairvoyance, which means clear-seeing, or through a myriad of other psychic abilities. A medium is someone who gathers information directly from a deceased loved one, or other spirit with a valuable message to share, and this is channeled through the crown chakra. Psychics and mediums utilize the heart, brow, and crown chakras at different times, and in various combinations, depending on how the information is being accessed.
We are all here to learn, grow, and love, in this life, and in all of our lives. While resting in our pure spirit state between lives, we decide on the circumstances we are to be re-born into. We give ourselves lessons to learn that will bring us closer to our ultimate goal of not needing to return to earth again in physical form. We all have spirit guides, whether we are aware of them or not, some of whom have lived among us as relatives or close friends, either during this lifetime, or another. Some spirit guides have not yet lived as physical beings. All of our spirit guides are connected to us, if not from this life or a previous one, then as part of our spirit “family” that we rejoin while resting between lives.
There are far more cultures and people in the world that believe in reincarnation than those that do not. There are many different theories on the subject. One theory is based on quantum physics, which suggests that all of the events in our past, present, and future are all happening right now on different dimensional planes, and therefore, all the lives we have lived, or will live, are all happening simultaneously. This theory is not based on karma, the belief that what we have done in the past in this life, and in previous lives, will effect our future by either rewarding, or punishing us in some way. Instead, each life or event is to be experienced as a lesson, just for the sake of the lesson, and not necessarily based on cause and effect. However, this does not free us from the responsibility of our actions.
We are all psychic. You don’t have to have been born into a psychic family, or be like the kid who says “I see dead people”. We are all born with a sixth sense. While it may be true that some of us are naturally more in tune with our higher-selves than others, anyone with a desire to hone their psychic abilities, certainly can do so with study, practice, and patience. So, let your mind run free, and your dreams soar–for our reality is what we make it.
