9 Carat Gold – Memento Mori Ring.

Skull rings were popular in the 18th century and worn by wealthier gentlemen. They were made in gold with diamonds mounted in the eyes. Although not stating ‘Memento Mori’ as mine does, meaning ‘Remember I Must Die’ it reminds the wearer to make the most of his short life. My 21st century version, will be made only in 9 or 18ct gold, with either CZ’s for 9ct, or diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires in the eyes in 18ct gold. In a size V the ring weighs 22 grams when finished. The skull measures 13mm high, and the ring shank is 9mm high and 2.5mm thick. 9 carat gold with CZ set eyes – £495.00.
